Incompetence. Shattering students dreams

I app**** for nsfas for first year studies and I thought it was approved as they paid my fees in full and I was receiving allowances. Few weeks back I checked my online status and it was unsuccessful however I still received my allowance so I thought nothing of it. A week ago NWU sent me a text stating my application was declined, I enquired and they told me to contact NSFAS seems like my status has changed. I haven't received the latest allowance instead I receive a text from university stating I should contact debt collectors to make payment arrangements.

I would like to enquire what changed? Nsfas landline refer me to email, I raised this with SI and he has since been looking into the matter but said this looks suspicious.
