In October NSFAS debited extra amount from my persal, i phoned them and I was told to send an email requesting a refund and for them not to debit so much money as it is way too much for me. to my surprise they did the same in November.

When I got my salary end of October I noticed the money was not enough. When I checked with the finance office I saw that nsfas took R1877.70 instead of R500 that they have been taking. the reason I asked them to take R500 was based on my salary and the fact that I would not survive should it be more.

In October they just took more money from my persal without me knowing. When I phoned them I was told to send an email requesting a refund and for them to go back to R500. I did that and attached(as nsfas requested me to) my salary slip and the bank statement for them to see that I have so much debiting from my account. After sending that email I got an email back to say the money was going to be paid back to me in 21 working days. I got surprised when they took the very same amount (R1877) in November. When I phoned again they told me that they had not received my email requesting a refund and reduction. I sent again on the 1st of December, there was no feedback. I phoned again yesterday and the lady I spoke to told me they will not refund me and in December they are still going to take R1877.

These people have put me under a terrible situation such that there are debts I have not been able to pay since end of October.
