DO NOT APPLY FOR NSFAS. SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE THAT COMES WITH IT.

They deserve no stars. Stopped my funding because I studied at UNISA before. For a few months. Less than a year. Wasn't funded by them while I was studying at UNISA. Had no bursary as I was paying for it myself. Had nothing to do with them.

They stopped my funding because they count 1 year at another institution like UNISA as 2 FULL YEARS. So I was rejected for funding in my final year due to exceeding N+ rule. Which is completely stupid. I wasn't even made aware of this when I app**** for the Nsfas bursary in the first place. It is impossible to get through to them via phone or email. Always something wrong with their website or systems and some staff very unhelpful and unprofessional. Last year I witnessed a Nsfas staff member in the town branch screaming at a student and telling her to leave the building and to stop wasting her (employee's) time. All because student was asking if there was anything else the employee could do to help her solve her query.

Save yourself the trouble and look for an alternative bursary. This one isn't it. Too many problems and stress. They don't care about the students at all.
