Devastated and hurt

I studied at UNISA using NSFAS and graduated 2014. 2020 i wanted to further my studies and registered and paid R3000 for my regitration fee and my regitration was not finalised. I then went to unisa do check wnat could be the problem. I fas told i owe unisa money hence nfsas did not pay for my study fees. I was devastated by the news i was not working saved up to further my studies to be told that. I studied between June 2010 - July 2014 and back then after registration at unisa we went to nfsas offices with proof of registration then nfsas will finalise the registration on the spot, by you signing the contract and then they will also allocate the money to buy books in the wizzit card at that given time. If i was not granted money that time why was i allowed to study for that term without me signing the contract. How did i graduate. I need clarity on this matter by someone who knows how the funding worked back then. Unisa is threatening to take legal actions against me if i dont pay R870 that is due and i already paid R3000 that i dont understand how i owed unisa that money. Please i.need someone from nsfas to provide clarity and if possible refund the money that was taken from me.
