INCORRECT CHARGE AND NO REFUND
I hate doing this kind of thing but I have exhausted all attempts made by going through my DC. In Sept 2014 I managed to settle some of my debt. Before settling, I notified my DC of the intention to settle, received outstanding balances from each institution. I paid the debt off on these and sent the proof of payments to my DC.<br> <br> He then, in turn sent them through to the NPDA, and the amount paid monthly to the NPDA stayed the same, at the request to redistribute the additional funds across other outstanding debt.<br> <br> All this was done in time not to cause any unrest and was specifically done in the middle of the month to ensure no month end issues.<br> <br> I then received my October Statement from the NPDA only to find that lo and behold, they had taken R6000 off the pmt claiming \RENEGOTIATION FEE"- i WAS LIVID !<br> <br> I then called my DC and he said that this is completely incorrect and will resolve this"
The NPDA is solely responsible for the collection and distribution of a debt review applicants monthly contribution amount strictly based on instruction received from the dc firm in the form of an uploaded payment plan.
The NPDA do not have the authority to make any changes to this payment plan, whether it be the exclusion of an account due to it being paid up, the amendment of a ref nr or the amendment on the amount payable.
All changes are to be made by the DC Firm. The Exclude DC Fee option was not ticked when the payment plan was created resulting in the DC receiving his negotiation fee of R6000.00.
I am unsure if the reason for the tick not being ticked was merely an admin error, or if the payment plan was intended to allocate Dc Negotiation fees towards the DC firm. The best would be to clarify this matter with your DC Firm.
All funds received from yourself distributed towards the relevant credit providers based on instruction received from the DC Firm. Unfortunately there are no funds available to refund.
