Would not recommend Novia Atelier

I had a truly disappointing and stressful experience with Nova Atelier. I ordered my brides****s’ dresses three months in advance (deposit paid 8 October 2024) for my wedding on 18 January 2025. I sent all six of my brides****s’ measurements on 14 October, but received no reply until 23 October after following up twice. I was told not to worry, that everything would be done on time, and that the girls would have enough time for fittings.

I live in Port Elizabeth and the designer is based in Pretoria, so I specifically asked that the dresses be delivered between 27–30 December to allow time for alterations if needed. My messages were read but never responded to. When the dresses didn’t arrive, I followed up on 31 December, 2 January, 3 January, 4 January, and 5 January with no response. During an already stressful wedding period, this added unnecessary anxiety.

On 6 January, I was finally told that only four dresses were ready, as she had gone on vacation and “left her phone at home” without letting me know. I begged her to overnight courier the dresses, and only on 9 January did she send the waybill. The first batch arrived on 11 January—missing two dresses, and the ones that arrived did not fit properly. The final two dresses only arrived on 15 January, just three days before my wedding.

The lack of communication was unacceptable, the timeline was completely disregarded, and the dresses were poorly fitted despite me sending exact measurements months in advance. While I eventually received all six dresses, the experience was extremely stressful and unprofessional. I would not recommend Nova Atelier.
