Appalling service from Northern Motor Group--Honda Motors
I have just taken my Honda Civic in for an 80,000 km service at NMG on William Nicol Drive Bryanston. Last year when it was serviced, I complained about the excessive petrol consumption as well as a grating noise from the front of the car. R10,000.00 later, the car was collected and these problems had not been addressed at all. I complained to the dealership and my daughter also sent an email----no response whatsoever. So this year, I was naturally reluctant to return to them for a service. I had severphone calls reminded that a service was due and I reluctantly booked---I spoke o the service consultant about the way the problem had not previously been addressed and she promised me that it would be sorted out on this occasion. I had several calls during the day informing me that the disks were going to be skimmed and various other things replaced. I was given the car at 17h00, having waited for well over an Hoyt at the dealership despite having been told that it was ready. As I drove out, there was a very loud grating noise as I braked. The original noise had not disappeared and the car felt instead to drive. When I drove it this more, the noise was considerably worse and it also had a wheel wobble ---the steering wheel also vibrated. I have returned the vehicle to the garage. The mechanic has informed me that there is nothing that can be done---in fact, he asked me what I thought should be done. I have been informed that the wobble is from the disks being skimmed and that I need to accept this. How can a car be worse after a service and still not have the initial problem resolved? The car does not feel safe to drive. I have left it at another Motors and returned home using Uber. The email sent to Trevor Horn last year after the poor service is still awaiting a reply. I am due to get a new car. After 30 years of having Honda vehicles, I now need to move to another brand.
