NBA Demanding Prescribed Debt

I was not aware until today that after three years, and under certain circumstances, a consumers debt becomes "prescribed debt", and he/she is therefore by law under no obligation to pay the outstanding amount. So the fact of the matter is that I was conned by NBA to pay them R 8000-00 for outstanding (PRESCRIBED DEBT) owing to Standard Bank, as I never heard from them, or received mail or a phone call from them for about 5 years. Also, they are now claiming that I owe Direct Axis/Wesbank a large amount of PRESCRIBED DEBT. I am grateful that consumers, by law, have rights, even if we might have defaulted or made mistakes in the past. At least now there is a law that protects us and enables us to sleep at night without being harassed, hunted down, or haunted by the failures of our past.
