Inability to provide a paid up letter

When Edcon got liquidated Norman Bisset and associates and RCS took over their customers information. I had an account with Edgar's EDCON in 2016 and it was paid off until 2019.01.22 via debt rehab. When both me and My debt rehab consultant contact them for a paid up letter, they sending us to pillar and post, giving out contradictory information. When enquiring with them they claim there is still money owed even though I had not been getting calls from them to "settle" it since 2016.
