Rather submit your UIF claim yourself.
I approached NOQUIF last year November for assisting me with my UIF claim application. As usual I did a review of the company on Hello Peter. Some reviews was excellent and others poor to terrible but weighing up the reviews of other similar consultant companies I thought to give it a try. The first response was excellent and paid R950 the same day to NOQUIF. Now just to be fair and not play the blame game, I struggle to get registered on the online UIF portal / website. Karen did assists me after several days trying to get hold of some one in the UIF department whom sorted out the problem. I uploaded all the required documents and was rest assured by an UIF consultant that my claim would be attended to soon in the New Year since it was over the festive season and understandable the UIF department worked on skeleton staff. In the 2nd week of January 2021 i checked the Application History of my claim but up to 4 months later it was still not declared on the system. I start to call the UIF department myself to find out what is going on with my application. Every time it was a different story and empty promises. According to the UIF my claim was escalated which was done 4 to 5 times but still no updates I could see on the UIF website. At one stage I managed to get hold of Karen, she explained that the UIF department was making use of outsource temps that does not really knows what they are doing and this contribute to huge delays and creating huge back logs. I start to call Karen and sent emails to call me back of which she never did. I then realized the best way to solve this problem is take a day and go into the UIF department and rather submit it manually. I was surprised that within 3 hours my information was uploaded and viewed the online UIF website and yes there it finally was. Now i am basically waiting for the claim to be processed and waiting my first pay out by the end of April. Karen, I know you do your best but you should not take peoples money before service was complete. At least send an update once a week so that your clients know what is the status of their claims. You were so professional and when things started to get difficult you just fade away. There is no excuse for your behavior especially when you took a client's money.
ADVICE FOR OTHERS THAT HAVE TO CLAIM FROM THE UIF. 1. Some companies DO NOT update the employees contribution on the UIF portal for some unexplained reason on a monthly basis. The company just pay the total amount to SARS monthly in which SARS pays it over to Department of Labor / UIF. The department only see the company's name but do not see who has contributed individually since the employer do not not do a monthly update on the UIF website. This for me must be mandatory that all employers that contribute to the UIF must be force to do these updates but unfortunately it is not required by law. 2. So if your employer did not do a monthly update DO NOT BOTHER to go through a UIF consultancy service provider, since their hands is tied and hope someone in the UIF department will do their job and capture the information which you upload to the website. This document is called a Salary Schedule which the HR department must give you with the U-19 form on the day of your end of service. 2. The following documents will be required when manually submitting your application to your nearest UIF branch. 2.1 U-19 (Get from Employer) 2.2 Salary Schedule (Get from Employer) 2.3 Latest 3 months pay slips (Obvious from Employer) 2.4 U-218 (Confirmation of Banking Details) You can download it but your bank will have these documents. 2.5 Take your I.D with and a copy of your I.D 2,6 Proof of Residence, this the UIF did not asked me but just incase. 2.7 Any letter as supporting document from your employer that you are retrenched, maternity leave etc.
When you have all these documents, go as early as 07h30 and get a Q number which will be announced when it is your turn. Take rather a day of and do it yourself incase your details is not loaded by the employer as am. Remember you are part of millions that claim UIF. My personal moto is when you want to get something done, rather just do it yourself and do not spend money on others empty promises.
