| Dear Thank you for reaching out. Please find attached proof of payment made to you from your savings pot withdrawals and because of your termination from the Hollard Provident Fund. The password for the document is your ID number. With the Two Pot system that came in on 01 September 2024 contributions paid to fund every month are split as follows: One third of the contribution is allocated to the Savings PotTwo thirds of the contribution is allocated to the Retirement Pot On termination of membership from the Fund the member is allowed to take their Savings Pot money in cash. The Retirement Pot monies must be preserved until retirement age. This means that the monies may remain in the Fund until retirement or they can be transferred to your new employer’s fund. As you are currently unemployed the money remaining in your Retirement Pot will remain in the Fund until you retire. Alternatively, you can transfer it to a Preservation or Retirement Annuity of your choice. But the Retirement Pot money can only be accessed at Retirement Age. Should you have any queries in this regard please do hesitate to contact me. ThanksCindy

want to address your concerns clearly and factually, because there appears to be a misunderstanding of how the Two-Pot Retirement System works. As of 01 September 2024, the Two-Pot system applies to all retirement funds in South Africa, without exception. This is not a fund rule, a company decision, or a personal decision, it is legislation. Under this system:
Meaning they must withhold my money until I find employment where I can transfer the funds to until then they will be busy eating the interest accumulated

- Savings Pot: You are allowed to access this portion in cash. This includes access on resignation or through permitted withdrawals.
- Vested Pot: Amounts accumulated before 01 September 2024 remain subject to the old rules and may be paid out on resignation, depending on the fund type.
