In summary: Do not let Luckson Njini of Njini Brothers anywhere near your house.

My initial post about Luckson was generous. I will not repeat that mistake. I will stick to the facts.

As it turns out, Luckson did a really shoddy job of painting my house roof: paint flaking off in places, rust marks appearing, inconsistent colour, etc. On 3 June 2019, I met with Luckson on the roof to review the situation. He agreed to fix his mess. He said he would propose a work date by 5 June. That day came and went without me hearing from him, and this set the pattern for our tedious engagements that followed:

2019-06-10: I messaged Luckson reminding him to propose a work date. 2019-06-25: My call to Luckson was not answered. 2019-06-26: I called Luckson. He said he could do the work on Monday 8 July. 2019-07-05: I called Luckson to confirm the arrangement. He said the weather was a problem and he would call back shortly to propose a new date. He did not call back. 2019-07-09: My call to Luckson was not answered. I messaged him, requesting that he call me. He did, but during the time that I had advised I would be unavailable. He did not leave a message. 2019-07-10: My call to Luckson was not answered. I messaged him requesting that he call me. He did not respond. 2019-07-11: I called Luckson. He said he was busy and would call later. He did not. 2019-07-12: My call to Luckson was not answered. I messaged him requesting that he call me. He did not respond. 2019-07-15: I called Luckson. He said he would start the work at 09h00 on 20 July. 2019-07-19: My call to Luckson went unanswered. I messaged him reminding him of the appointment. 2019-07-20: Luckson did not come, nor did he make contact. 2019-07-22: I called Luckson. He spun his usual litany of excuses and reasons why he is actually quite fantastic. He said he would come on 28 July. 2019-07-26: I called Luckson to remind him of the appointment. He postponed to September, purportedly on account of the weather. 2019-10-02: I called Luckson. He requested that I call back later to get a work date. 2019-10-07: I called Luckson back. He had not yet come up with a date. He said he would call back later and propose a date. He did not. 2019-10-09: I called Luckson. He said he would call back in 5 minutes. He did not. 2019-10-10: Luckson answered my second call. I then endured many minutes excuses, justifications, self-promotion, and his refusal to fix his mess until I removed my first post. Then he suggested doing the work on Friday 25 October. 2019-10-25: Luckson did not come. Granted, it poured all day, but he didn’t even bother to call. 2019-10-28: I called Luckson. No apology from him but he did agreed to come on 9 November. 2019-11-07: Luckson didn’t answer my calls during the day. I left messages reminding him of the latest arrangement. I also Whatsapped him. He read the message. 2019-11-08: More reminder messages and a promise from Luckson that he would call back. He didn’t. I did. No answer. 2019-11-09: Luckson did not pitch. I phoned him. I told him that I could tolerate this no more, that he was no longer welcome on my property, that I would accept a settlement. He proposed materials and a day’s labour. 2019-11-13: I called Luckson to advise that I would accept materials and five day’s labour. Some of the more memorable quotes from that call: “Stop calling me on this number. Stupid idiot.”, “I am not prepared to do anything.” Then he said he would consider my proposal and call back before 12h00 on 14 November. 2019-11-14: Luckson did not call. 2019-11-15: Luckson said he would not settle.

So be it Luckson. Your work is bad. Your word is worthless.
