Bad After Sales Service

A month ago my wife bought a Nissan Juke 1.2 Accentia from Nissan’s flagship Dealer – Imperial Nissan Menlyn. One Week after we took delivery of the vehicle we noticed that there were a few things:

1. The reverse camera was not straight.

2. There was a “squeak” noise in the boot when you drive.

3. There was a rattle in the cabin at the steering wheel.

The vehicle was booked in and the issues were addressed:

1. Camera was adjusted by the Sales Person we bought the vehicle from.

2. The “squeak” noise, we were told by the Sales Person was the tool bag in the boot that touched one of the panels and therefore made the noise, however today (14 October 2016) we discovered that a piece of insolation tape has been taped around the boot latch to keep it from making the “squeak” noise. Once the tape was removed the noise is back. I don’t think that this is the correct way of fixing this.

3. The Sales Person mentioned to my wife that the middle part of the Steering wheel need to be this “loose” because of the hooter. When my wife drove the courtesy car (also a Juke) none of this happened in that car.

4. Nobody from the workshop came to speak to my wife to advise what was done. The Sales Person gave all the info to my wife.

Issues we experienced today:

1. On the day we went to sign all the documents the contract was not gone through with us. My wife was just told, please sign here, here and here. And after a few of these we were done and out of there. Today when we had time to go through the contract in detail we realized that the extended Service Plan, Chip Cover Plan and Tracker are financed with the vehicle. When it was explained to us we were under the impression that all of this were done as part of the initial sale and not as extra costs to be financed. – now this is financed and we are paying interest on this and we can’t turn back on this but was not explained to us properly.

2. Today me and my wife called the Sales Manager to advise him of the issues and asked for the car to be booked in and for us to have a courtesy car once our vehicle is booked in. The Sales Manager advised that he will get all the info regarding the contract and call us back and he will get one of his Service Advisors to contact us regarding the booking.

3. When a Service Advisor called my wife regarding the booking. She asked him to please contact me (her husband) to discuss what is going to be done on the vehicle. The response from the advisor was as follow: “As jy so n houding wil inneem dan gaan ek nie eers met jou praat nie” and then the phone was put down. Before this the advisor did tell my wife that her vehicle needs to be booked in on Monday 17 October 2016.

One don’t expect after Sales Service from a Flagship dealer of Nissan or any Top Vehicle Dealer in SA like this.
