**********,HORRIBLE AND DREADFUL SERVICE BY NINETY ONE ESTATE’S DEPARTMENT.
I have been given a run around as I am in the verge of finalising my close relative estate ,who passed on the 2nd May 2021.
I have known the deceased and lived with her in Lochvaal Vanderbijlpark since 1985. I was working as a Security Officer at the University of the North west for more than 17 years and only took retirement after her passing as I was changing provinces.
I was then taken in by my Niece to come and live with him in Volksrust Mpumalanga.
Me and my Niece visited Ninety One offices in Sandton on the 11 of May 2023, to submit the relevant documentation for the closing of the Deceased investment and we were assisted by Khulani who gave me the Redemption form to fill out which I did sign and left everything with him, Upon leaving he told me that I will either receive a notification or email within 24hours.
On Friday afternoon the 12th May 2023 we called to check if the process has began only to be told by Yolandie that she never received anything from Khulani.
Imagine I had driven ****m’s from Mpumalanga because we leave in Farms Internet cafes are not that close considering my age and health problems, I thought it would be easy and stress free to drop the files in person. As I was avoiding such stories.
I phoned back again on Monday the 15th May 2023, and the person I spoke to (Yolandie ) who denied receiving any documents from me.
It is then that I realised I should ask my Niece to drive me back there again to find out what had happened to the documents I had signed in the office. Mind you I use a wheelchair as I struggle to find balance after sitting down for a long time that’s why I always have my Niece next to me. I am suffering from Parkinson’s disease and on Friday afternoon just after we got home I was attacked by a mild stroke that is affecting my speech which could’ve been triggered by this stress I am going through of this claim.
On the 16th May 2023 we drove back to Ninety One offices, upon arrival we did not find Khulani, whom had helped us sign the documents, Instead someone came and gave us a letter, and told us that there was no one to attend us as agents are working from home and we must book an appointment I mean what kind of company is that, that chases away walk in clients not once but twice, and I told them how far I had come from, Ninety One client service is not only poor but it’s inhumane, you can’t be treating people with such disgrace.
On the 19th May 2023, I sent an email to client services *** trying to follow up and make an appointment as It was stated on the letter we were given, also followed up with a call to make sure they did receive my email.
When I called the Ninetyone Client service number -***, I went through to a company called FNZ and as I spoke to the person on the other side, I was as again pushed away as I was told over the phone that “I can’t be given any feedback for security reasons. I mean where does this FNZ come from now. My niece searched this new company now and found out it’s still in and around Ninety One offices.
I just got even more confused as I am trying to establish what is that they’re doing there. And I had no choice but go visit this new company now.
On Thursday the 25th of May 2023 we decided to drive down to Johannesburg to this now new FNZ company we know nothing about upon arrival we were told there was no one to assist us as all agents are working from home, still left without being assisted.
We then went straight to the offices of Ninety One as they not far apart from each other. We still came out with even more confusion now, as the so called superior (Shirley) eventually called to tell me that there’s nothing they can help me with as my case is being handled by SAPS and i don’t know what they were trying to do with my claim by telling me about SAPS as i am still willing to come verify myself as the appointed and nominated person of this estate.
Like really how did SAPS and FNZ got to handle my claim as the deceased had an investment with Investec /Ninety One not with FNZ and SAPS.
All I need is clarity as to when will the payment be effected, and if there’s any further documents required from me.
My health conditions are deteriorating daily I shouldn’t be traveling long distances like this, but I have no choice as I am in need of these funds since the passing of the deceased things has never been the same as she was the one taking care of everything.
We are now in the verge of loosing our home the sheriffs are not giving us a break. Where will I stay after loosing our home, at this age considering my health problems.
Ninety One please be realistic I have lost my trust in you why would you move someone’s money without their consent.
As previously communicated with you by email on 19 May 2023, due to suspicious activities identified in respect of the deceased investor’s estate, the matter has been reported to SAPS (the South African Police Service) and they will be investigating the matter. Unfortunately, until these investigations have been finalised, we will not be in a position to process any instructions submitted.
We will be in contact once feedback has been received from SAPS, but at this time we are unable to commit to a timeline.
