Solar Installers - That Do Not Know What They Are Doing

In January 2023 I was looking to install solar and was looking for an accredited Solar installer. My uncle had just installed his solar and recommended Joseph (Nilza Electrical & Solar) / (Ntshiki Electrical Construction).

Based on my uncle's recommendation, I called Joseph and France to come and see me, and we chatted, so he could give me a quotation. Once I received the quote from Joseph, I settled on using him. I kept on asking for his company registration number to make sure he was qualified, and he was giving me excuses until he sent me the company registration number for Ntshiki Electrical Construction. He told me that both companies were the same.

I ask him to install my 8KVA Sunsynk inverter and two AM5 Hubble Lithium batteries, as I was not ready to install the Solar panels. On the first day of the installation, I went with Joseph to buy all the components required to install the inverter and battery. It was clear to me that he had not installed Hubble batteries, as he purchased battery wall mount brackets, when Hubble batteries come with their own wall mount brackets. I still gave him the benefit of the doubt, and he completed the installation.

24 hours later, we started having issues where my inverter kept on restating by itself and losing power during the process. This would happen once a day. I called him, and he would just tell me to restart my inverter and say that this was normal. When I asked him to come and check the inverter and batteries, he would say he was on his way and would never pitch up.

My borehole was not connected to the inverter, and I called Joseph to tell him, and he said he would come to connect it and never pitch up. I had to beg him, and he eventually sent his colleague, France to do it. Normally, when someone installs an inverter, they redo the main DB board in the house, and he did not do this. He said it was an extra cost, and I paid the extra.

On the day of his coming to redo the DB board, he once again did not pitch up, and I had to beg his colleague France to come out and redo the DB board. During the installation, he was taking multiple personal calls while he was working on my DB board.

After all the inconvenience caused, I decided to go with someone else to install my Solar Panels. This time, I did a lot of research and found someone who was qualified and reliable. When he started to connect the solar panels, he noticed that Joseph and France had connected the inventor incorrectly and used the wrong cables and switches. While he was doing the installation, he noticed that the CT COIL was missing. I called Sunsynk, and they said that the CT COIL only comes with the inverter, and we could not buy it anywhere. I called Joseph and France to ask them. They blamed each other for *****ing it. France **** and said that he would buy it from Takealot. I looked on Takealot, and they do not sell it. We had to threaten them with Legal action. 1 hour later, France pitches up at my gate with the CT COIL. It turns out that they made us buy extra components that we did not need, and they stole them.

The new installer had to redo the whole inverter connection and replace everything. We had to pay for a second installation of the inverter. He had to redo the DB board as well, as France did not connect everything correctly. We had to pay extra for this as well.
