Take care when investing in a camera system
This serves to warn beginners looking at buying into a camera system. I have a D7000 that has been nothing but a disappointment along with a 70-300 lens. Nikon is generally more expensive than their main competitor Canon, and this is important when buying lenses. My D7000 has a constant focus issue, which Nikon refuses to acknowledge as a problem on this line, just like they initially refused to accept responsibility for the D600 fiasco. So if you're into photography where there is any movement, stay clear of Nikon's entry & mid range. My 70-300 is again for the 2nd time having VR failure. I've had issues with this lens from the start. Complained again a week ago & was told someone would phone me. Needless to say, nothing yet.
