Niki-Nana Backpackers: Don't stay here!

I had the unfortunate experience of staying in the Niki-Nana Hostel in East London. (4 Hillview Road, East London) This hostel is in a terrible state. The place if filthy, infested by ****roaches and bed bugs and the service is very poor. I stayed in a private room as you enter the hostel on your right. The room is carpeted and had a a terrible damp, musky spell that was unbearable. The linen spelt like it hadn't been washed at all. I discovered that there were massive ****roaches inhabiting the space in the evening and so actually moved myself into one of the dormitories in the night. The staff member didn't seem concerned at all. The next morning they didn't offer to compensate me for the extra money spent since I moved into a dormitory. The bathrooms are dirty and full of mould and look very unhygienic. I left my belongings unlocked in my room when I went to sit outside. I thought it would be safe given there was only one other person staying there who was outside already, and I didn't think the staff would *****. The next morning I realized that R200 had also been taken out my wallet. This was after the staff refused to let me pay with a card & asked me to draw cash. Terrible!
