Nike store Eastgate - how they mistreated a customer

I am so dissapointed and angered by the service I received at the Nike Store at Eastgate on Friday, the 10th of November 2023.

I went shopping at the store for new active gear to wear to the gym. I was being assisted by a sales representative to find new active wear. I found a tight that was R300. The sales representative said that it's not possible for the item to be R300 and went to check on the computer. Turns out that they made a pricing error and it was actually R1799. He then told me that an error had been made and said that someone could lose their job because of this. I told him that just like any other store, Nike will deal with the losses, furthermore, this is not my problem. I took other items as well. When I got to the till to pay, the manager told me that it was a mistake for the item to be priced like that and asked me to "forget about it", and purchase the tight at the price on the till, not on the item of cloting. I told her that I'm not going to do that and that I will pay R300 for the item because that's the price on the item. She then told me that if I wanted the tight for R300 then I had to go and withdraw cash because her system won't recognize the sale if i paid with a card. This was obviously a lie. All store managers have an access code that enables them to override prices. Everyone has seen this being done before.

It was 20h45 on a Friday (night) during the festive season, when crime statistics in the country were already on the rise. I couldn't believe that she was suggesting that I endanger my life and risk getting hijacked at an ATM at Eastgate mall just so that she wouldn't have to give me the item at R300. She also knew that it was highly unlikely for me ro return to the store from the ATM prior to them closing. I decided to not go and withdraw the cash.

I am just so shocked and appalled by the fact that sales representatives and a manager of a store a highly reputable brand like Nike would behave in the manner which they did and treat a customer in this way. Everytime I walk past that store, I'm repulsed, not at the the brand but at the store and how they treated me that day.
