Cracked Nike Mark

I Bought a Nike 7/8 High rise legging for R999.00 yesterday. The nike mark is cracked the day after. I tried to submit a claim at Nike and they just reply I need to go back to the store where I bought it. Which is far from where I stay. It is unacceptable to pay R999.00 for a pair of proper nike leggings and then the brand mark is cracked.
