Nickay Production

<div>On April 17, 2024, I received communication from (SACAP) my varsity regarding the pricing of graduation photos. The attached price list, titled "Nickay Productions Order Form and Pricelist MAY2024" outlined the costs. Following the graduation ceremony, I received an email from Nickay on the 19 June 2024 with a link to purchase the photos. Upon proceeding to checkout, I noticed that the photos were priced R25 higher than the amount stated in the provided price list, resulting in a cost of R125 per photo via WeTransfer.

Concerned about this discrepancy, I contacted Nickay to seek clarification. Unfortunately, my conversation with someone from Nickay was unproductive. Instead of addressing the issue, The closed minded gentlemen accused me of projecting my problems onto them. He dismissed my concern by stating that I was the only one among thousands of graduates to complain, further suggesting that I could purchase the photos later if affordability was an issue.

To better understand the situation, I reviewed Nickay's 2023 price list from another university and found it identical to the 2024 price list sent to me by my university. This inconsistency raises concerns about potential price manipulation. While I recognise that mistakes can happen, the dismissive response I received and the unexplained price increase suggest a lack of transparency and customer care. It appears that Nickay may have opportunistically increased the prices to capitalise on many graduates' purchases, which I find unacceptable.</div>
