Terrible experience with Smith Films on Wedding DVD

I am extremely disappointed in the level of service provided by Nicholas Smith from Smith Films http://www.smithfilms.co.za.

Our wedding was on the 30th of April 2016. On the 09th of November 2017 nearly 19 months later I got notified that they have now finished with the editing.

Driving thru to there premises at 1 Sandler Road Fairmount, Johannesburg, Gauteng to collect the Blu-Ray DVD and Project file that was originally promised to me, Nicholas went back on his original agreement and refused to provide me with the Project file as he now claimed that it was their art and that they are no longer willing to provide it as originally agreed.

This made me furious as it is yet another example of when you pay a provider in advance they are very happy to take your money, but don't stick to their promises.

Getting back home I tried the Blu-Ray disc in both a Sony PS3 and a Samsung Blu-Ray player. Neither of the devices played the disc. I contacted Nicholas Smith to notify him that the disc wasn't working and that I would like a replacement disc as the product that they supp**** was faulty. He commented that Blu-Ray discs are sensitive and eluded that both my players must be faulty as it "worked" on his one.

He said that I must now drive back to his offices again and only if it doesn't work on his player will he be willing to replace the disc.

Hope anybody that is considering to make use of Smith Films as their videographer takes note of what you can expect to get after you paid them.

R20k later, still no Blu-Ray DVD.

Poor, Poor, Poor service Nick.

After eventually giving up on getting a replacement Blu-Ray Disc from Smith Films. I went and bought a Blu-Ray Writer for R2500 to see why the Blu-Ray Disc wasn't working. It turned out that Smith Films didn't close / finalize the session on the Blu-Ray disc, hence it wouldn't play on a normal Home Blu-Ray player.

So this is interesting... Today I got an SMS from Nicholas Smith stating the following. "Hi Frikkie, I have seen your Post on HelloPeter and I will be contacting my Lawyer tomorrow. To sort out this matter. Nicholas Smith" Timestamp: 2018-03-01 19:23 Let's see if this is going to change into a positive review or if I am going to receive threat letters about the review. Still extremely annoyed by the overall level of service received from Smith Films !!!
