Payment made and proof submitted, but NNIncorp continues demanding payment and threatening legal action
I am extremely concerned about my experience with Nicholas Ngwenya Incorporated Attorneys regarding an Absa Credit Card account.
My account was referred to NNI for collection. I was contacted regarding an overdue amount and made payment on 25 August 2026.
I initially experienced difficulties making payment using the account/card details available to me. I therefore contacted NNI, and their office provided me with alternative banking details to use for the payment.
I made the payment using the banking details provided by NNI and sent proof of payment to them on the same day.
Despite this, more than a week later, the payment has still not been reflected/allocated and I continue receiving repeated payment demands stating “NO PROOF OF PAYMENT RECEIVED.”
Their latest communication demands that I pay R1,500 immediately and threatens adverse reporting to credit bureaus and legal action if payment is not made.
I find this extremely concerning because I have already made the requested payment and have provided proof of payment multiple times.
I have retained the proof of payment, the correspondence in which NNI provided the banking details, and the emails through which I submitted the proof of payment.
I am requesting that NNI:
1. Trace and allocate my payment; 2. Update their records; 3. Stop sending payment demands based on an alleged non-payment while the payment is being investigated; 4. Confirm the current balance on the account; and 5. Confirm in writing that no adverse action will be taken based on this apparent payment-allocation issue.
I am willing to resolve any legitimate outstanding amount, but I should not be repeatedly threatened with legal action for an amount that I have already paid and for which proof has been supp****
