Education is not a priority for Gorvernment
I app**** for the NFVF bursary for my second year of study last year and I received a response that I had met the minimum requirements to receive a bursary but it is rejected due the fact that the nfvf does not have adequate funds. This is a government agency that helps the entertainment industry with funding. This agency awards production companies with millions to make films, documentaries etc but, they are not able to make a budget big enough for education. The government claims that education is their first priority and that every young person in South Africa should be given the opportunity to an education for a bright future but, there are no funds for education. They give away millions to production companies which already have educated people which were taught how to make great low budget films.

I am currently locked out of campus due to not being able to pay for my fees. My mother was retrenched last year October and was not able to find employment since. I went through my first year with a student loan but, I was not able to apply for that this year or any other loan due to no pay slip. Please help me understand how education is not a priority.
