Stay away from New World Menlyn

We wanted to buy 2 tumble dryers today 7 jan 2020. One for myself and the 2nd for my mother. I asked for someone to explain the difference between the models. We waited forever and when the lady arrived to explain she did not have the technical knowledge. I asked her to find someone to assist us that understands tumbledryers. Someone behind the counter then explained some terms to her and send her back to us. No effort to actually send the person that knows what is going on to us. The 1st question I asked she again could not answer us. I went to the counter and asked to speak to the manager. An arrogant woman at the till told me the manager is old and does not speak to clients. She pointed to a grey haired man behind her with headphones on his head. I pointed out that my mother of 73 years is in the store with me as she wants to buy a tumbledryer. Age should not be an excuse for poor customer service and he is not older than my mother. The woman behind the till was extremely aggressive and told me she does not care. I asked her for the details of the owner... She responded she does not know. I then asked her for her name and she responded she is Mary Poppins. She told me that I must show respect for her as she is older than me. I pointed out that I am the customer and she is supposed to assist me. At this point my mother came to the till as she wanted to pay for the tumble dryer. I told her we will not spend our money in such a shop and cancelled the order. All the staff looked at us without saying a word, just watching how 'Mary Poppins' laughed at us when she gave this as ger name. Clearly used to treating customers this way or too scared of the aggressive woman behind the till to say a word? I will NEVER spend my money in New World Menlyn again. I will tell all my friends and family to stay away. You have a choice to employ people that will continue to treat customers like s...t. I have a choice where I will spend my money and it is NOT AT YOUR STORE.
