Arrogant Management and Faulty Items

They do not deserve the start that I have to tick to write a review. I bought a Kodak Cherish Baby monitor on Friday for our new born baby born yesterday. Upon setting up the unit it was clear the camera and parent unit can not be even 10m apart. The camera has a delayed response and the unit continiously disconnects from the camera. I took it back today for a refund and was told by the extremely unprofessional "manager" that they will give me store credit. I told him that I do not want store credit and would prefer a refund. He insisted that he can only help with store credit. I educated him on the consumer protection and ECT Act that states you must refund, without penalty for up to 6 months if an item is deemed :not fir for purpose". He then told me "In that case, take the item and leave. Not to even mention, when I purchased the item I was overcharged R 850! This they refunded though. PS: While I was enjoying myself looking at the guy trying to find a way to make sure he has grounds to stand on in terms of finding a way to make the item work, there were 2 other customers returning faulty items. This so called shop has a huge problem with both their products and staff attitude.
