New Balance Website is ****!

Was on the New Balance website to purchase my daughter a pair of sneakers. So, I register and sign in. Before I register a pop-up ribbon on the New Balance website indicates "15% once off for all first time purchases when registering online". I think this is fabulous. So I put the sneakers in the Cart and just as I'm about to purchase, the discount does not appear. I'm in Cape Town so I call the New Balance Call Centre and someone from Malaysia answers the call- yes the New Balance Call Centre is in MALAYSIA. After almost an hour on the phone talking with this Malaysian, I discover that the particular sneaker I want to purchase does not qualify for the 15% discount (even though there is NOTHING on the New Balance website to indicate this). While talking to this Malaysian Agent I quote various South African legislative pieces, such as the Consumer Protection Act, etc. This Agent doesn't know what I'm talking about BECAUSE they are not bound to any South African law to protect the South African consumer. After almost an hour of back and forth, I realize this guy is saying the same thing in different words each time and he does not have the power to give me the 15% discount as advertised on the New Balance SOUTH AFRICAN website.

I put down the phone while he's still talking bull**** and my daughter who is sitting next to me while I'm on speaker phone, and who is also studying Law, decides to leave the New Balance **** and rather go to a SOUTH AFRICAN RETAILER who can refund or exchange sneakers that has been bought and being protected as consumers.

Word of advice.......stay FAR AWAY from the South African New Balance website because you don't get what you see and what you pay for.............
