Services not provided, now unable to get response or refund
I spoke to Stuart Rose for Tracing of two individuals, and he indicated he would get the office to send an invoice for payment. The email was signed by Stuart but came from an email address with the name "amanda". They CCed the incorrect email address initially. We paid the invoice the same day and provided proof of payment on 15 February 2024. On 16 February 2024, Stuart followed up in a somewhat aggressive manner on the payment, and was surprised that we had already sent proof of payment. He promised feedback the next working day, which would have been 19 February 2024. On that date, he confirmed he had received some information, but not the SAPS Trace. On 21 February 2024, I followed up again only to receive a sob story about why he wasn't able to send it - including that he was the only person with access to the office. The website makes it look like there is a large team, which would suggest others should have access to the office. I followed up again on 22 Feb, 23 Feb, 27 Feb, 29 Feb, 6 March and 7 March varying by Whatsapp, phone calls, and emails. I have still not received what was paidf for, and have now missed the deadline by which I needed the information. The office phones are not answered, and Stuart has stopped reading my Whatsapps. I have made request for refund on three ocassions which has been ignored. This has been a deeply unpleasant experience. I would not recommend working with Stuart or Network Debt Recovery.
Looking at reviews from the beginning of lat year, it appears to be a pattern that Stuart insists on payment heavily, and then vanishes off the face of the planet/with a sob story. Positive reviews are older, and the business appears to have changed since then. Exercise caution.
At the end of the business day on 14 March 2024, I had not received anything, and emailed him to let him know as well as to re-request a refund as the information is no longer useful.
I called him on 15 March 2024 and he informed me he had not received the information, despite the promise made, and was still attempting to obtain it. I asked again for a refund, and he indicated that the refund would only be provided if this review, and a corresponding one on another site, were removed first. I declined this offer.
Both times I spoke to Deon on the phone, he repeatedly interupted me and spoke over me.
I have also subsequently discovered the eNCA Devi expose on Network Debt Recovery.
The office phone does appear to be more used now, and I have been able to get a response when calling it. Stuart's name and details still appear on the listing for the company on Bark.com. I hope that the company will be functioning better without Stuart and the two others who have been removed, and I wish them the very best for the future, but I won't be using or recommending them.
