Very angry customer
I app**** for a loan with NetLoan and was approved. The next day I was asked to make a payment of R1200 which was supposedly for a policy that needed to be taken out in case something happened and was unable to pay the loan back. At first I was told that I needed to pay this money into an attorney's account. I couldn't make the payment on Friday as I was working all day. I got very angry and upset phone calls and messages via WhatsApp all day despite the fact that I had explained that I was working and couldn't get to the bank. I then asked if they could send me the banking details this morning. This morning (Saturday) I was told that none of the attorneys were at work and that I needed to go to either Spar, Pick'nPay or Pep and pay the money to a cellphone number. I only had R800 which was my last money and I tried at Spar to pay it but was told that the number they had given me was not RICA. I then went to Pick'nPay and paid it via my ID number much to the anger of the representative from NetLoan who wanted me to do it at Standard Bank (something that was not mentioned at all). I was then told that I would receive confirmation when the funds were in my account. I waited and waited. All of sudden I got a WhatsApp message saying that HSBC/NetLoan required a COT fee of R1950 to transfer the funds into my account. When I checked HSBC on Hello Peter they are ****mers. I have lost R800 and will probably lose my home at the end of the month as I desperately needed this loan. Is anything at all legimate and legal in this God-forsaken country of ours anymore. I have just tried Access Bank and also discovered that they are a ****. Heaven help us poor honest, hard-working South African.
