Netflix South Africa - Same Shows, No Fresh Films, Losing the Plot

I’ve been with Netflix for years, but lately it feels like I’m paying for a rerun channel. The horror section hasn’t changed in ages — the same movies have been there since last year or even before. When new horror films are added, they’re often low-budget, badly dubbed, or in subtitles (and not the good kind — we’re talking zero budget, zero scares).

It’s rare to find a genuinely interesting show — maybe two in six months — which forces me to rewatch old favourites just to get my money’s worth. Meanwhile, Netflix is pushing quantity over quality, flooding the platform with filler content instead of fresh, gripping titles.

As a long-time subscriber, I’m disappointed. For what we’re paying, we deserve regular updates, diverse content, and horror movies that actually deliver — not the same tired titles collecting dust in the catalogue.

Netflix, you’re coasting on your name, but if this doesn’t change soon, people will start jumping ship to platforms that actually refresh their libraries.
