GapCare Refuses Trauma Counselling Claim After Car Accident

I am disappointed that GapCare rejected my claim for R5,700 for trauma counselling services provided following a motor vehicle accident.

The reason given was that "al**** health professionals are not covered." However, the counselling was directly related to the psychological trauma suffered as a result of the accident and formed part of my recovery process.

I believe it is unreasonable for accident-related trauma counselling to be excluded without proper consideration of the circumstances. Mental health support is an important part of recovery after a traumatic event.

I have requested a review of the decision and clarification on whether any trauma or psychological support benefits are available under the policy. I hope GapCare will reconsider the claim and provide a fair outcome.
