NOTCARE Umhlanga hospital
[01/19, 13:25] Crisalda: Let me first preface this by saying I am unable to use my hand to type because of drops and I'm unable to speak louder or more eloquently in order to have this done because my have tonsils okay on the on the 17th of January which was Tuesday I could not breathe properly so I will came to the emergency room and the last ask me took my vitals and said that a doctor would say to me the doctor came to see to me about 40 minutes later and ask me what's the problem because I could not speak to her she said LOL what's wrong with you why you not talking I started saying I cannot speak properly and it hurt when I spoke then she gave me antibiotic through a drip the lady who gave me the antibiotic drip or the nurse that gave me the antibiotic drip I use the wrong job it was to take which caused the problem when the trip was administered and the medication was given my hand started to burn as in my veins were hurting to a point where I couldn't move them I cried and ask them to remove it but I was told no there's no reaction so don't overreact when I came to the world ok before I came to the work I sat and cried with the drip in my hand because the admin who could not get pre-authorization for my admission they said made me sit there in pain for three hours while they try to contact my medical help service my medical aid service because I know maybe help is such a good medical scheme I called them directly and within 17 minutes I was able to get pre-authorisation and I was given a room when I got to the room I was given something to eat but I did not complain because I just wanted to have the drip from moved but nobody remove the drip because they said that nothing was wrong there was no reaction or outside that they could see something was wrong I could not stay peacefully in that room so I spent most of the day outside in the garden because they had put me in a room with two geriatric old woman who was senile and one was calling for her cat and the other one was just behaving irrationally and talking about about billing to go home to close her door both of these women were in diapers so the room constantly smells like feces and I was given food to eat in the place that smell like feces I cannot spend more time in my room recuperating or recovering because I could not stand the smell of the feces in the room so I once again I spend more time outside in the garden the the next day I went to the section and I ask to speak to the manager at 6:30 in the morning and I was told that there's no manager there when my boyfriend came to see me because I was in such a bad mood he spoke to the receptionist and the receptionist told him to go through management which apparently lau was open even though I had waited 40 minutes and it was not yet 8:00 I spoke to a lady by the name of where Melanie and she assisted me by putting me into a different room when she put me into a different room I thought that I would have peace and quiet that I would have had time to relax and recuperate but it ended up being a room for their patience with three patients three young girls and young but 1922 and 25 were in the room with their parents and friends in order to have their wisdom teeth removed so these people spoke the whole day and I could not sleep so I spend the rest of the day outside in the garden smoking because I was so stressed out I just spent the most of my day smoking even though I was admitted with tonsillitis we are not supposed to be smoking but I am bipolar so I am trying to keep myself calm and not have a fit or have a mental breakdown due to the fact that I I'm being in treated in this hospital when I got back to my room at 5:00 two of the patients had left and I was able to get something to eat I had ordered on the menu mash and and mince but the person had given me fish cakes and rice when I complained at 5:00 that I need to eat because I am bipolar and I need to take my medication at a certain time someone told me that they would get back to me and give me the food that I needed 6:00 a.m. 7:00 a.m. 8:00 a.m. nobody saw to me nobody gave me any food to eat it came to a point that it was now 10:00 at night and I have not eaten since 2:00 that afternoon and I had to go to the night manager and speak to them in order for them to get a porter to take me to a garage so I could buy food for myself in order for me to take medication which was now very late in the night I was not able to sleep because the group that was given to me at 1:00 was not flushed until 11:00 at night so I had to remove the drip that was working perfectly fine and put the drip on the house that had given me so many problems with the burning and tingling and numbing sensation that had come when I used it before now I have limited use of this left arm because of internal swelling and feeling tingling burning numbing sensation. the doctor came to see me today and I asked him when I can be discharged because of poor service delivery the nurse Candice team was with him and listen to me say I want to leave because of poor service delivery but did not offer any condolence or any sort of sympathy for my experience neither did she ask what my experience was or how she could have improved or made it better after the doctor left I went to the midday manager reshma sing and explained that I can have no feeling in my left hand because of the drip that cause a reaction. She said that she would get the day nurse to come to see me to listen to my concerns when she came down I realised that it was the same person that had the straight there and listen to me say to the doctor that I was not happy to stay here because of poor service delivery and I told her that if Candice was upstairs and did not care what I had to say when I was upstairs with the doctor I don't know the doctor's name who sing then why would she be interested in listening to me now I came to the what again and asked for each person's name the people that have been seeing to me and giving me such horrible treatment filled with angry faces of people that don't like their jobs that don't want to be here that I just cheer to collect a paycheck and have no concern for the welfare of any of the patients that are in their care I am now sitting to eat and the food that I have in front of me has cheese on it I am lactose intolerant I cannot have any dairy products with that are not lactose-free because I have other diarrhoea or vomiting so when the nurse who did not flush my drip on time came to find out why I asked what was his name I opened the [01/19, 13:25] Crisalda: I asked him what do you see here you saw that there was cheese on my meal and they ask that I asked that it be replaced now I'm still waiting for someone to come t2 what is wrong with my arm before I get discharged because if I go to school and not able to use my arm probably I will not be able to write and do my job successfully Show quoted text Crisalda Francis *** Surgical ward 3 Netcare Umhlanga Admitted 17-01-23 Discharged 19-01-23
The head day nurse name is Candice temm
The day manager is reshma Singh
The male nurse who did not flush the drips regularly is sinjin
The nurse who tried her best to assist me was the night head nurse fortunate. She said that the cries I let out from the pain of the drips traumatized her. That was how much pain I experienced and when I asked the doctor for a sick note he said he was only here to help because doctor r Moodley was on leave. Doctor Soni was rude and arrogant as if he was doing me a favour by seeing to me as if he was offering his services free of charge.
He discharged me even though my markers were not within limits but because I had made a scene at the hospital so all the staff got together and they had me out the door in less than 20 minutes from the time of the first email I sent.
I told the doctor I needed a place that was calm and peaceful for me to rest and recover and that it was definitely not going to happen at this hospital so rather he send me home with medication.
After discharge I went home and got a high fevers and had to be rushed to St Augustines. The doctor was appalled that Umhlanga sent me off on that condition.
I now have a nose infection and need to go for a CT scan on Monday. If Netcare Umhlanga looked after me properly then I would not have spent so much time crying out of pain, misery and frustration and I would have been back at home. Now I have to stay in hospital another week to fix all the things that Umhlanga doctor's and nurses inflicted upon me.
