Chronic medication
I was hospitalised when I collapsed at home on the evening of 1 September, a subsequent ct scan showed that I had developed numerous Pulmonary Emboli, a side effect of the chemo I was receiving. In lieu of hospitalisation, I was discharged on Xarelto on 5 September. A prescription for Xarelto was sent to Netcare medical scheme by the case manager at Parklands hospital on the 3rd of September. A week later on follow-up with the treating physician, another prescription was emailed to the mediscor address I was given by Netcare medical scheme. It is now a week and a half I have been trying to get this medication authorised and despite numerous phone calls no one seems able to find the emails sent to them, I have cancer, currently undergoing chemo and radiation therapy and am not well enough to even be able to phone anymore. It's been a long battle and I am not sure if I will win. Please could someone at Netcare medical scheme help me. I had to pay cash for my Xarelto today because it's still not authorised and it cost me R120 for four tablets, even so I had to phone around to find a pharmacy that will dispense just a few tablets at a time.
