OLD Chocolates still within the expire date

I have purchased the tub of quality street chocolates tub 800g (not completely sure ) about two months ago. Knowing the standard of Nestle chocolates I would expect the shelf life to be much more extensive then the estimated expire date as per product. Unfortunately I do not have the proof of purchase and can't exactly remember where it was purchased.
I have a complaint about the expire date, the date on the product is 2015/07, when I open the box on Monday 15/6 all the chocolates were rock hard and had such a light brown dust colour it was clearly old and passed the expire date. The soft centred chocolates were completely hard. Not to mention of how poor the taste would be.
If someone can please respond to me with regards to this matter, I have a tub of old chocolates that costs R150.00-R180.00 at any retail store I have completely wasted. This is very disappointing and could have been embarrassing as It original bought it as a gift.

A response will be appreciated and some explanation as to what exactly I must to with a tub old chocolates
