DISAPPOINTING SERVICE!!!!!
When I came in for an eye test, I brought along my existing glasses so the optometrist could use them as a reference. I was still using those glasses comfortably, and my understanding was that my prescription had not changed significantly. My old glasses were multifocal and included a blue light blocker, which worked well for me. During my visit, I was explicitly informed that I would not have to pay anything, as my medical aid would cover the full cost. This was reassuring, and I agreed to proceed based on that information. However, when I collected my new glasses, I was shocked to find that I could not see properly with them. Upon further enquiry, I discovered that they were not made according to the same specifications as my old glasses, they were neither properly aligned with my previous prescription nor did they match the features (multifocal and blue light protection) that I rely on. To make matters worse, I have now been told that I must pay R2500 to have the glasses corrected. This is extremely frustrating and unacceptable, as the issue arose due to an apparent error or oversight during the prescription or manufacturing process, not because of any fault on my part. I feel misled about the costs and disappointed with the quality of care and attention given to my situation. I trusted your professional services and expected continuity and accuracy, especially after providing my existing glasses as a clear reference. I should have stayed with my optometrist in Midrand, I regret it.
