Van still broken after two months

Ford Nelspruit cannot fix my Ford, that they broke.

I honestly don't even know where to start. I bought a demo van (Ford Tourneo 2013 model) from these guys 2 years ago. Some regular issues with the vehicle and not happy with it to be honest, but that’s not the complaint. I bought the extra warranty from Ford and it was valid until 120000km. I took the vechile to them just before this as it was due for a service and I also wanted to ensure all is well while still under warranty.

I got a weird call from a guy called Mouwritz. I think he is the parts manager. He was extremely rude and told me that the rear brake sensors needed to be replaced. These have been replaced before and they have been fixed before to. I asked him why they keep braking - as I do not think that they can break every service. He got extremely loud straight away and told me that they cannot be fixed ever as they are sensors that cannot be patched, they are impossible to be fixed and needed to be replaced. Taken aback by the fact that he was so aggressive, and the fact that the same service center had repaired these sensors before, I told him that I am not happy with his response and requested he explain himself. I wanted to know why he was so confrontational and I wanted to know why I have had the sensors repaired in the past, why they keep braking and either he was lying, or his colleagues before him were lying, as the sensor have been repaired before! He, now yelling at the top of his voice, told me he had no other explanation or alternative. At this impasse, I asked to speak to his superior. He told me to phone Mike Bosch, the service manager.

I got in my car and drove to the dealership immediately, the service consultant took me to the car, where I met Mouritz - he said "o dis jy" - and the consultant took me to the manager. I spoke to Mike, already upset about the way this has gone. He was also unable to answer my question. I wanted to know who was lying to me. The person who told me that they fixed this part in the past, or Mourits, who claims that there is no way to fix them. Mike knew that someone was in trouble. He said he'd call me that afternoon with a solution, I left.

No call from Mike. I called the dealership and held for a couple minutes. No answer, I asked to be called back. This repeated itself an hour later and Mike eventually called me back. He said that there was a recall on another part on the car(first I heard of this) and that they needed to keep the car overnight, but that they would do the service, and that they would replace the recalled parts and that they would fix the sensors. I asked again why they can now be repaired again after Mourits claim this was impossible. No answer, again.

I arrived the next morning, asking why they never told me that there were recalled part and what they did to the car the entire previous day, they did nothing as apparently they were too busy(I had an appointment and had the car there early). No apology, no other explanation, no Mike Bosch, No Mouritz. Just pay and go. I paid and left.

Up to here just a regular bad service complaint, now it starts getting weird!

Just over 100km from the service, the car goes into protective mode. A bad noise starts from the engine and the car shakes. I take the car back to Ford Nelspruit. I talk to Mike Bosch. We leave the car all day. Eventually I get the call, and I drive to the dealership again. Mike and the mechanic and standing with a small 500ml water container, claiming that the(about 15%) water in the container came out of the car's diesel system. They claim that the diesel pump is broken and must be replaced. I object asking why this was not picked up 200 km ago?

Here is the kicker: "Sir, your car is now over 120000km and the warranty is no longer valid the new pump will be (I think it was R4500) " So by now I am very worried. These guys are blatantly ripping me off! I object and ask them what they plan to do as I feel such a major problem should have been picked up at the service, just 200km prior! They claimed that if I left the car there, again overnight, that they would take out the part from their store demo and "give" it to me as they "want to help me" and that the "breaking of this part and the water in the tank" is strange to them too. Without having to make payment, I am happy with the plan and decided that as soon as they have this thing fixed, I am selling this car and never going to even look at a Ford again. So I agree. THe next day I call 5 times, leaving messages and asking for mike to call me. Nothing. I get no time off work to go and finally end up going there at 4:30 - they claim that they replaced the part and that they forgot to call me. Still not having to pay, I am happy to agree.

Kicker number 2 = now the car is even worse than before. They tell me they DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS WRONG with the car and ask me to drive it around, maybe the problem goes away! Shocked I asked for an explanation - they said they think the water damaged the injectors and that if the damage is not so bad, it will go away. I am not sure what exactly they mean and try to drive the car. I drive it home, the car does not go into limp mode but the rattles, knocks and sounds just get worse. I call Mike to tell him I think they should tow it back, I am assured that it is fine and I should bring the car to them AGAIN!

I take the car in early the next morning. The consultant tells me that Mike is busy fighting with another client and that "it was not a good time" - I walk out and give him the keys to the car and ask him to call me when he has time.

Kicker THREE – IT HAS BEEN 5 Weeks now and I have not heard a word from him. Mouritz called me after the car has been with them for over a month, telling me the damage is R32k and they want me to authorize the payment so they can fix the car. I asked if the warranty would cover these parts, he said no. I told him I do not even know what is wrong with the car. I told him I expect Mike Bosh to call me. I called Mike later, on hold, left message, no luck and to this day I have not (14 March) heard from anyone at Nelspruit Auto/Ford
