Finance and Admin staff at NMU are a disgrace

With the exception of one helpful, junior lady in the finance section, do the finance and administrative support staff understand the purpose of higher education? Do they understand their role as staff support? Do they understand the difference between line and staff functions? Clearly, even if they were trained, they were unable to learn anything. Are they there to assist academics, support innovative research and promote NMU? Or are they there to mindlessly impose bureaucratic obstacles because they don't have a brain? Clearly finance and admin staff at NMU do not understand that they are there to serve the students, not order them around. They are there to assist the academic line heads, not obstruct and control them. I do a lot of work for universities internationally and these inefficient bureaucrats at NMU make the institution a disgrace to academia.
