NO ASSISTANCE FROM NMMM PE

We moved into this residence in September 2018. We received our mucipality account on time and paid it accordingly. In July 2019 we received an account that says we owe R10,000 plus. We were in shock because we alway keep our account payments up to date.As I was hospitalized at that time my husband went to Korsten Municipality branch where the male at the enquiry desk told my husband to pay the amount as he was going to be refunded soon. This never occured. The month of August 2019 we received another statement from NMMM for the amount of R8,000. We could not believe it so we approached Korsten Municipality again. Once again the same guy told us to pay the R8,000, but we told him we do not have that monies. When we checked charged us multiple rates and sewerage charges. We also went to City Treasurer in Govin Mbeki but no solution to our problem.As the months passed the amount just kept growing substantially. Eventually we decided to put in pre paid meters, and a MIA report was lodged in July 2019. We are still waiting for the outcome of this MIA report. I sent emails and phone regularly, but no solution. We are in the process of selling this property, because of this problem because it disrupted our future plans and finances. I will appreciate assistance in this matter as we got buyers for this property.
