NMBM unable to paint traffic humps

Running a municipality in today's South Africa cannot be easy, but there are basic services that must be delivered - especially those related to road safety.

For four years I have been complaining about the failure of the NMBM to re-paint the lines on traffic humps in the Lorraine area, and have seen the monthly messages that the local ward councillor sends to the relevant municipal official, but there has been only limited, sporadic action.

I have even offered to do the painting myself, and have asked that the city provide me with the paint, but have received the response that the budget for road paint has been exhausted - thee months into the municipal financial year!

No service, but heaven help me if I am ONE day late in the payment of my monthly municipal rates, for the NMBM will automatically cut off my electricity.
