House Barendse Project Fully Paid But CompletionDelayed

<p>On 28 August 2016 an agreement was made between ****em Davids and Altus Barendse for the demolition of part of existing house and construction of new house,store room and a new roof.</p> <p>Payments was to be made in four stages: Window cill height, roof height, when fitting of roof trusses with tile covering was done and then the final draw when ceilings and plastering & screeds were done. Due to either pressure from ****em for more frequent payments and him telling my husband he needed more money to pay his workers, I paid over the entire sum of money including the electrician and plumber's moneys. These services were under the builders guarantee and were subcontracted by him, as were the carpenter, for the erection of the roof covering.</p> <p> </p> <p>We have tried to get ****em Davids to get the carpenter out to come and finish his work on the roof since end of Januray, with no success. The carpenter was only back briefly on Monday, 27 February to give instructions to ****em's workers and then he left with no word of when he would come back to complete the roof.</p> <p> </p> <p>Other work around the house that need to be completed cannot be completed as we need the storeroom's roof also to be completed before we can move all the garage equipment and other furnisher out of the part that we are now living in, in order for them to complete the screeding of floors and completing the ceilings. This is also the case with completing the plastering of walls,windowsills and the sliding doors on the outside.</p> <p> </p> <p>How can someone take your money like this and keep on making empty promises of that they will be completing their work, when they are not doing so?</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
