UNFAIR TREATMENT
I was renting a house through NatRent estate agency in Alberton. When they terminated my contract end of July, according to the contract they were supposed to refund me deposit money within 30 days. When I contacted their consultant (Angelique) that was helping me, she said I have to wait for the final months electricity and water and sewerage- there also seems to be some maintenance, so the deposit will be paid out on or before the 1st September. But till today I have not received my money. When I asked her about the deposit, she was rude and told me that, the canvas needed to be fixed by a company in Pretoria- if the canvas was not broken in the first place the deposit could’ve been finished but, unfortunately it has to be fixed first before I get my deposit money. Now I overpaid them in July, they were supposed to deposit that money back which is R4000, it has nothing to do with the deposit. I’ve been asking them to deposit back that money. They told me that they have deducted the water and sewerage money from it. I told them that the extra money has nothing to do with those things. And according to the contract, they are supposed to deduct that money from the deposit money. It’s been almost 2 months now, they don’t want to give me back the money that I over- paid and they don’t want to give me the deposit. They treated me like I am nothing, they didn’t show respect as their client. They are always rude when I contact them about my money. They don’t treat their clients equal. A white client gets a better service, respect than a black client. I am talking that from experience from what I have seen and experienced with them.
Good day Bongi
We tried to explain to you that the R4000 you overpaid was used for the utilities that was loaded after you vacated. Ekurhuleni accounts are billed two months in arrears. It has nothing to do with race. If you mentioned the matter in time, we could have assisted
Thank you
