Rental deposit refund denied

If I can put negative stars I would put -5 stars. Natrent is a bunch of ******* and ******. This is the issue I had with my rental deposit refund from Natrent Rentals. I have been ****** in broad daylight. In March 2024 I had given notice to my rental agent, Natrent rental I was dealing with a lady by the name of Annie. I was expecting my deposit to be refunded the amount was about R8200 which I do understand that there is a damage deposit to be covered so I was not expecting the full amount back maybe about R2000 less which I was happy with. I had repainted cleaned up reasonably well. When I eventually received the refund, I had only received R3200. I took it up with them, they told me that there was so much wrong, which my INGOING INSPECTION HAD THE SAME POINTS AS THE OUTGOING INSPECTION. I requested to go fix up the issues again pointed out they said no, they have a contractor appointed. They sent me a breakdown of costing. They said they had to do a fumigation, costing them R2000 its ridiculous its ab 80m2 unit. then I had to pay municipal charges amounting to R3200. So I thought it was just that. A month later I get a call from them telling me I need to pay the contractor who fixed the place again. They sent a bill of R5000, I need to pay him. I said why should I cover that costs when they already deducted from my deposit. I told them I don't have the money.

So basically I paid the rental agent to move out. From R8200, what was deducted R2000 Fumigation, municipal rates roughly R3000 and few other things. This left me with roughly R3200 of the refund deposit and I have to pay the contactor appointed by them R5000, they cleaned the stove and tightened the toilet seat, varnished the door, cleaned the braai area and had to pay transport cost for them, this came up to R5800 they gave me an R800 discount, that is absolutely ridiculous. So from my R3200 which I had received as a deposit refund. I have to ad an extra R1800 to pay for the contractors who cleaned up the place R5000.

They are constantly harassing me calling on my cellphone and even my office line, I told them I do not have the money. They have now blacklisted today 4 November 2024. I am furious, I am going to send my message to every platform I know. Stay away from them!
