Natrent! A nightmare when refunding deposits
I lived in an apartment owned by a family member and I had moved in a year before Natrent took over managing the property and even when the lease was signed, there was no entry inspection. I stayed and had to vacate by 30 June and there was no exit inpsection. According to the Rental Hosuing Act, landlords may not deduct from the deposit if there was no inspection done. By the time I had vacated, all monies owed to Natrent had been paid and I was able to see it reflected on their end on their protable. Then in July when inquirnig about my deposit, De Wet kept telling me that there are outstanding amounts when there are none and refereed me to Annie who handles deposits. They then dismissed me and said "it takes 30 days to process'. It has been over 30 days and not a sinlge word of my deposit and when when I called and finally got through to them, I was told of orders being made for repairs. REPAIRS I DO NOT KNOW ABOUT BECAUSE NO ONE CONTACTED ME! Mind you, I am still being charged for August when my lease ended in June. This real estate is the absolute worst and if you can, avoid it by any means and if you already involved, and they do shady things, please report to the Rental Housing Tribunal and to Property Practicitioners because they are doing dishonest practices.
