Eating people's refunds and taking advantage to
I have been staying at Windmill Parks estates for the past 3 years. I have been a good tenant and looked after the property very well and treated it as my own place while staying there. I have recently moved out i July and and i was expecting my deposit refund of +R5300.
I knew the place had to painted after moving out (3 years is a long time, even weekly cleaning of the walls makes walls dull). 1 hinge of the kitchen cupboard had to be tightened.
I informed my agent of my moving and she advised she would send me her check list after she inspects and will let me know what needs to be fixed. I have been waiting from July and nothing came through. I sent a mail on the 18 Sept to get an update on my refund and i was told that i would only get R213 back out out of the R5300. Natrent now tells me that they have painted and bought a new bath tub with my deposit without informing me and giving me a chance to do it myself. There was no tenant for the whole month f August and there was plenty of time for me to paint (painting only takes a day to do)
After complaining, they then told me they will refund R713, who are they fooling??? wehre does the extra R500 come from??
I feel disgusted and very angry as Natrent treat people in Windmill park estate as illiterate people who do not know their tenant's rights. They do not care about their tenants and company reviews says a lot. People have been silent too much and its time they spoke out about this ill treatment. They do not care about their tenants, all they want is their money that people have worked hard for. They are unashamed to rob people.
I would not recommend anyone renting from Windmill parks estates, there are plenty of flats people can rent from within the area where people feel appreciated, respected and treated like human beings
Good Day Vuyiswa
Unfortunately I disagree strongly with you. We expect the unit to be returned to us in the same condition it was given to you. Marks on the walls and scratches in the bath does not count as wear and tear. It is not a question of us robbing tenants of their money, but purely repair damages caused by tenants
Thank you
