I rented a flat from Natrent for my parents. I paid rent and abided by all their rules. We experienced a sudden death my father passed on and seeing he was helping with rent the family. I knew I could not afford rent so I put in an immediate notice to cancel the rental contract. I was informed I had to pay a late cancellation fee and I did not mind that. On the day we left we cleaned the place and left in a good condition ,mind you we had lived in the house for almost 1 year 6 months ,in that time you would report broken things and no one would come. My father reported a stove that was not working, when we moved in the stove was a s**** ,oven not working ,2 plate on the stove not working and no oven rack eventually Belinda said she would replace the stove end April and it so happened that was the time we moved. Almost a month later after enquiring about my deposit ,I received an email from Angelique saying that the staff that needed fixing was almost R8000 on that almost 5000 was for cleaning and painting the place ,a 60 pages document came with all the staff that needed cleaning ,including cleaning of curtain rails and globe fittings that we found in that condition. The other almost 3000 was for the stove. The stove that was to be replaced but was never replaced. So I was told I owed Natrent R2360 or so. Letters threatening to blacklist me were sent twice and when I mentioned that the stove had been reported, Angelique said she would look into it and she also said it did not matter still I owed them. At some point she had sent an email saying that she would talk to the boss to clear the debt so that l would not owe them and they would not owe me, when I asked about this she rudely said she spoke to him and he said no I should make a plan to pay. In other words Natrent does not care ,they will bamboozle you off deposit mine was R5550 and still overcharge some things and claim money, they will threaten to blacklist you several times without even conducting an investigation. Please stay away, its all traumatizing ,I don't even know where I must get that money from as I am not permanently employed and make sure when you rent a house from them to check all scratches ,dirt on even curtain rails, all the small details cz you will loose your deposit money and even be charged more. In all the time I lived there ,I paid for an access card which I never got about R500.The people are inefficient ,the likes of Melisha and Angelique and then quick to harrass you. Stay away .Still the stove issue is unresolved ,the cleaning and painting was overcharged and I'm very depressed because of the threats to be blacklisted .
