NYS Stipends
I find it really unfair that other people got their stipends while others are being told stories. It’s been days since some participants received their stipends but others haven’t and those that got it didn’t get the amount they’re supposed to get. NYS is an *********** organization because how come some people got their stipends while others are being told stories that they’re fixing it. It’s been weeks since and we’re being told the same thing. It’s really frustrating

NYS under NYDA failure to communicate: Dictation over communication
Disappointed at how government programs are run. App**** for the NYS program only for a lady by the name of Bonolo to say there is an age limit, which was not stipulated on the application via SAYouth. When asked what is the age limit she answered only after being asked multiple times that it's not something we should worry about. Just after that A Mamohale posts a message in the group that there is a youth day event. People who are interested to go mush show hands. Interested parties show hands then the Admin suddenly says it's a must that everyone attends as contracts will be signed. Firstly all communication under the NYS is always after office hours. Secondly they communicate with people as if people are not supposed to think or ask questions. Just because we need work opportunities doesn't mean we are stupid or uneducated. We can reason. No introduction of who will be communicating was made, no layout of what is expected was communicated only for them to tell us in the group that the chosen people are the ones who attended the youth day event. For an organisation that is supposedly in support of youth development this is rather disappointing to witness and experience on a day like June 16. The level of unprofessionalism is very disappointing especially for a government led program. What is more disappointing is how it is all unfolding at the brink of a crucial time in South Africa where our people are fighting for what is right and such happens. Do better because we be unemployed but we are not stupid. No sane person can miss the red flags of poor communication and blindly go into an opportunity that only serves the giver and the people getting it must take what they are given whether they are sure or not. The BCEA explicitly requires employers to provide clear explanations where needed. Are we not allowed to ask because we won't get chosen? Are we not allowed to not consent to last minute event attendance because we will not be chosen? Are we not allowed to worry about lack of information so we can make informed decisions?
