Lenasia Renal Clinic is part of the National Renal Care, I have been a client/patient of this unit for now 2 years, my experience with them has been appalling. what is scary is the visit is relating to your health. it does not help when you come in for your session your blood pressure elevates. I have now on numerous occasions lodged many complaints to the NRC management. I don’t think they understand the plight of patients. we have just become a number to them, as long as they are able to bill that's more important to them. on one occasion when I sent my complaint the NRC Manager could not assist, instead told me to conform to their times. as a dialysis patient, I have to be treated 3 times a week. Time is of the essence so I plan and manage my time according to what is convenient. the issue is the staff of the NRC do not take into consideration the difficulties and trauma we face with our condition. the solution to the NRC is to do workshops with their staff on compassion, teamwork, and being alert fo the duration of their shift. there are times after you are connected you only see your respective nurse at the beginning of your session and at the end, for the 4 hours you are on dialysis you are not attended to. I am not sure but maybe the Doctor benefiting from the unit should take an interest in the unit relating to the service rendered. today was the final straw, I walked into the unit at 1:35 pm, the first unit did not work, that took an hour, they then had to prepare another machine and connected me, after 10 min the 2nd machine was also not working. they then had to prepare a 3rd unit for me to dialyse. I have been at the unit for 2hrs . and still have to go through the four-hour session. that is six hours. how would one feel if six hours of your is taken, what if you have an emergency, or you have plans? the inconvenience it causes to you is very traumatic and disturbing... NRC sends surveys to complete but does not seem any of the complaints get taken seriously. it is very frustrating when you are constantly ignored. I am hoping this complaint reaches anyone at the NRC who helps with us patients' plights. something needs to be done about it as some of us patients' condition will not change and we need the treatment for survival.
