Health risk from LAVEV Meubles Par Pascal

I have been complaining to National Real Estate about a workshop inside the block of flats (MIMOSA Court, 9 short Street Bloemfontein). The owner of the workshop is using the communal property as his workshop. I am so frustrated about the lack of action from National Real Estate. This type of business does not belong in a residential area. The noise from LAVEV Meubles Par Pascal factory drives us insane. The sound is the worst, it’s not your usual loud noise, for some reason we just can’t get used to it. This noise is causing us a lot of emotional and mental stress. You can hear the drilling, grinding and spray-painting noises even long before you can move into the building. We have informed Mr Danie Griessel (NRE) and Mr Motshwane Moloi (Caretaker) about the health dangers cause by Lavev business and nothing has been done about it. As property owners of the Mimosa Court building, we are concerned that there is a dangerous condition on the property that deserves NRE prompt attention. It is well known that wood dust is a human carcinogen. Certain woods and their dust contain toxins that produce severe allergic reactions. Breathing airborne wood dust causes allergic respiratory symptoms, mucosal and non-allergic respiratory symptoms, and cancer. It is also well known that spray paint affects eye, nose, throat irritation, headache, loss of coordination, and nausea. Long-term side effects may be a hazardous as damage to the liver, kidneys, and central nervous system. Some organics are even suspected of known to cause cancer in humans. Lavev Par Pascal is making our lives a living hell and putting our lives at risk. The place is literally a dumping site and National Real Estate refuses to do anything.
