*************

I would like to voice my complaint on Hello Peter as I have tried numerous times to phone and have emailed the National Dept Intervention with no response on my issue:

I phoned the National Dept Intervention in June 2023 to enquire regarding their process as I wanted to make assistance of their help. One of my first questions was what fees they will change me monthly. I was told that the National Debt Intervention is subsidized by the government, therefore no fees are required to be paid from the customer. I then signed up happy with the help they will provide me.

The first month R3000 was debited from my bank account, however none of my accounts were paid. When I followed up with the National Dept Intervention I was told that they are first deducting R3000 for three months to cover the fees (which I was told there was none of), thereafter my accounts will be paid. I then complained and was told that a supervisor will contact me. I never received the phone call I was promised.

I have been struggling to get to speak to someone at the National Dept Intervention for more than 3 months. Every time I call, I am advised by the operator that my issue will be escalated and I will receive a phone call from the supervisor. This never happens. I have sent emails with the history and my complaint and again no response. I have requested that I wanted to cancel the agreement and wanted the R3000 to be paid back. The only response I received was an email with the cancellation form cutting all ties with the company - no feedback on the money already taken from my account.

I feel the customer service of the National Dept Intervention is very poor and their services does not aid a person in the position of dept review. No agreements have been made with the credit providers to my knowledge before I requested to cancel the agreement.

Good day Nozabelo, I do hope this response finds you well. Our system indicates that we have attempted to contact you on ALL of the occasions you have called in to our offices and we were unable to get hold of you. The reason we are unable to refund the fees charged was because ALL of your credit providers had come to an agreement and all your debts were successfully restructured. I am unable to discuss the finer details as it is not meant for this platform. We will however contact you and hopefully come to a solution where you may continue making your monthly repayments.

Thank you for your reply. I am unable to check your system myself, but I received no phone call back other than the call I received today after I posted my review. I was informed that the R3000 was for legal fees, which again was not communicated with me at the start of this process. I am still not happy as I was told by the consultant that phoned me today that the money will "most probably not be paid back". You are mentioning above that you will be unable to refund the fees charged, BUT again I stress the point, NEVER was I informed of any fees. I therefore believe the National Debt Intervention should make this a special case and refund me.

Very disappointed.
Have not had any contact from the National Dept Intervention since my reply on the 20th of Nov.
Would not recommend this company to anyone.
