WARNING - STAY AWAY FROM NDA !!!

This is a copy of my email to the NCR, reporting NDA for their misleading tendencies.

Good Day,

I wish to lodge a complaint against National Debt Advisors. My experience with them has been nothing but an unwanted nightmare. The following is a breakdown of what has occurred and how I have been negatively prejudiced.

12th September 2017:

I app**** to NDA for Debt Review, as I was wanting to try settle the debt I have with FNB, which incurred after I was retrenched last year March.

I was informed by Jayde that my vehicle finance (which was 100% up to date) and my Donna Claire account (which was 100% up to date) would have to be included in order for me to qualify.

Eventually I agreed to this, but I was very uncomfortable with this suggestion, but felt like I was in safe hands with NDA, having never been exposed to any Debt Review process.

He assured me that my interest rates would be reduced and therefore my debt would be almost halved and I would be paying back the capital amount at a smaller amount each month, this information got me very interested so I agreed to proceed.

I went ahead with the process, after numerous emails between Jayde and myself, and I signed a Form 16, all in good faith that I was doing the right thing, although my daughter said to me "Mom if it was that easy to get rid of your debt everyone would be doing it" which did make alarm bells start ringing. I quelled my fears and emailed the signed documents back to Jayde.

I was initially informed by Jayde that my monthly payment would be R4300.00pm, when Jayde phoned to discuss the process further he then said to me that my payment would have to be R4700.00, which I eventually agreed to.

On the 2nd October my account was debited with R4700.00.

For this R4700.00 all NDA had to do was cancel ONE debit order, which was my MFC (car payment) which they assured me had been done, which ended up NOT BEING DONE, MFC debited me on the 26th September. I had to have the debit order returned.

I was then debited R99.00 for my ITC report which I did not request.

Jayde asked me if he could draw the report and I said yes, there was NO mention of a cost of R99.00 that would be for my account.

I lodged a complaint with NDA regarding this unauthorized debit on my account, which was actually declined by Standard Bank as I had no money in my account plus I was then charged R25.00 by Standard Bank.

I queried the R4700.00 monthly premium with the complaints department and sent them the email where R4300.00 was discussed, after which

I then got an apology from Jayde about the R99.00 unauthorised debit order on my account and he then offered to drop my monthly repayments to R4500.00.

9th October 2017

On this day I received NDA's Debt Restructuring Plan from Zahraa.

Her proposal was for me to pay less each month but had extended the payment period by as much as 10 years on my one FNB debt. It was the most insane proposal I had ever seen in my life.

Had this proposal been presented to me prior to the Form 16 being signed and prior to me paying R4700.00 in good faith, I would have cancelled the idea there and then.

Needless to say I have cancelled this preposterous restructuring plan. No person of sound mind would agree to this diabolical suggestion.

As a result of this fruitless exercise these are the ways I have been negatively affected:

1. I notified my insurance company of my decision and was given 30 days notice to cancel my insurance policy on my vehicle as I was now considered and "unacceptable risk", even though I had never missed one premium payment nor had I lodged any claims against my policy.

2. I have now fallen into one months arrears on my vehicle payment and my clothing account.

3. I have had to return my debit order for my vehicle due to their inefficiency.

4. I have had a R99.00 unauthorized debit order returned on my account.

5. I have been RED flagged on the credit bureau.

On the 10th October I sent an email to all the NDA staff involved informing them that I want the process to be cancelled with immediate effect and that I want a refund of my R4700.00.

On the 12th October I received an email from Emihle White, informing me that I am unable to cancel the process unless I provide proof that my debt is paid up or get a declaration from the court saying I'm not over indebted. Also informing me that should I not meet these requirements my name will remain flagged at the Credit Bureaus. She also informed me that there will be no refund as I had to pay for the restructuring fees.

Needless to say this left a very sour taste in my mouth and I informed her that under no circumstance must this process continue and that there was NO ways I was paying NDA another cent of my hard earned money.

I would like to now find out from NCR if there is a way that these red flags can be taken off my name as I do not feel that I am over indebited. I am in the process of making arrangements with FNB to settle my debt with them on a monthly basis. As mentioned earlier I was not in any arears on my vehicle payments, nor my Donna Claire account, I was paying FNB credit card and my insurance premiums.
