NDA (National Debt Councilors) Not delivered on what they promise
I was under the impression that as a Debt Counselling institution the most important thing would be to facilitate and aid the client you are representing. One thing is for sure this is not the case with NDA. It was very quick for them to place me under debt review a process that literally took 48 hours, however how is it that after 7 long years of getting my accounts paid up and NDA debiting my account. I have been diligent in my payments in order for my credit record to be restored and I could finally build my life up after many years of struggle. However to my dismay when the time came to get my name clear they drag their feet and i have been pushed from pillar to post and given a million different excuses why the process is taking time. Apparently the procedure of getting a clearance certificate has changed as well, and not once was i informed of it. I called numerous times to get a total amount of my last account (ie, Nedbank) and they still gave me the wrong amount. Which now apparently is a further delay on my clearance certificate. When i call or email them i have consultants telling me that this is procedure, and protocol. Yet no one follows up and no ones cares to actually make an effort to get the necessary documents up to date so that the client (ie me) can actually have a quick and effortless process.
I have legally looked into the timelines and its been said that it should take 7 days to get a clearance certificate from your debt counselor after your final payment and final account being closed. Because of lack of interest in my account, incompetence from the consultants following up on my accounts, and proceeding to actually take an interest in their clients. I am now forced to wait extra days to get my clearance certificate, which delays in me apply for a home loan and bettering my life which was the whole reason why i went onto debt review anyway. I was promised the best care from NDA and i was not delivered it.
After even reaching out to the compliance officer, i was still giving the same old excuses and no resolutions.
To say i am disappointed is an understatement, my advise to anyone wanting to go under debt review to better their lives and credit records, please take time to review your councilors, they offer so much in the beginning but when it comes to the final steps they dont deliver and one is back to step 1.
Kind regards,
